There’s more to Salsa than just learning the steps. The basic steps in Salsa are very easy to pick up. It’s the behind-the-scenes knowledge that will collectively and exponentially improve your mastery of Salsa dancing. For one thing, there are several styles of Salsa. There are also different levels of being a Salsa student and dancer. Moreover, aside from the basic steps, you also need to learn intricate footwork, spinning and musicality. Where can you learn all these elements, you’re asking? Where else but at TaToSalsa Studio right here at the Tampa Bay area!

If you feel safer learning Salsa with like-minded individuals, TaToSalsa Studio is the place to be. TaToSalsa specializes in group classes, although they are also available for private lessons in Salsa, Casino Salsa, Cha Cha, Bachata and Mambo (On2). The studio also holds special events, dance socials and dance workshops.

Beginner class
The beauty of attending Salsa dance classes at TaToSalsa Studio is the structure of its courses. For beginners, there’s the basic beginner course (Level I) and the Level II beginner course. These classes focus on teaching you the fundamental footwork in Salsa, the basic turns as well as dancing and working with a partner for New York Style Salsa (or Salsa On2). The course syllabus is structured, so students have a review of the previous week’s lessons while learning new elements.

Mastery of beginner Levels I and II elevates you to Intermediate Level I course, should you decide to pursue higher Salsa dancing courses. At this level, the student will learn how to connect and transition from one footwork or move to another. At the Intermediate Level, you’ll focus more on musicality, timing and tempo that are very essential to Salsa dancing. You’ll also be able to follow or lead the basic fundamental movement based on the music. You’ll be able to be more creative at this level, as you’ll be working on advanced partner work and footwork.

More serious Salsa dance learners are encouraged to take private lessons where the one-on-one approach will allow the instructor to carefully go over your coursework, focusing on techniques and material. Private lessons can be monthly or bi-monthly, which can last for one hour or five hours.
